Jamie Oliver upsets shoppers with controversial Easter suggestion

TV chef Jamie Oliver has ruffled a fair few tailfeathers throughout the years.

From his call to ban Turkey Twizzlers back in the day, to insulting our beloved milkshakes – Jamie Oliver is definitely a person who divides the nation.

Now he’s divided shoppers yet again, after sharing his own hot cross bun recipe – which is far from conventional.

Posting on Instagram, Jamie showcased a new savoury option with his 8.5 million followers, writing: “Freshly baked hot cross buns…..but these aren’t just any hot cross buns, these are CHEESE & CHIVE hot cross buns!! Who would like this recipe??”

Unsurprisingly, fans were divided by his unexpected controversial concoction with many sharing their opinion in the comments.

One person said: “Yes please to the recipe!”

Another commented: “Ooohhh these look AMAZING! I bet they smell divine.”

“What a treat. Yummy,” put a third user.

Not everyone was convinced though, according to the Mirror.

“No thank you. Non traditional hot cross buns are not for me,” slammed one critic.

Another blasted: “You know, I know food evolves, but I’m not so convinced by anything that’s not a traditional hot cross bun.”

Somebody else simply wrote: “No.”
