Thyagaraja Aradhana Manchester 2026 3rd Edition

Thyagaraja Aradhana Manchester returns for its third edition, continuing its journey as one of the UK’s growing celebrations of South Indian classical music. The event is dedicated to Saint Thyagaraja, one of the greatest composers of Carnatic music, whose devotional compositions and musical innovations continue to inspire musicians across generations.

Originating in Thiruvaiyaru in South India, the Thyagaraja Aradhana is an annual global celebration where musicians gather to pay homage by collectively rendering his timeless compositions, especially the revered Pancharatna Kritis. Over time, this tradition has expanded across continents, with vibrant celebrations in the United Kingdom and beyond, bringing together communities through music and shared cultural heritage.

The Manchester edition builds on this global legacy by providing a platform for accomplished artists, emerging performers, and students from across the UK to come together in a spirit of devotion, learning, and artistic excellence. The programme features classical vocal and instrumental performances, group renditions, and community participation, reflecting both authenticity and inclusivity.

More than a musical event, Thyagaraja Aradhana Manchester serves as a cultural bridge, celebrating heritage, fostering intergenerational learning, and enriching the multicultural arts landscape of the city. The event is open to all audiences and includes traditional South Indian hospitality, offering a complete cultural experience.
