Talk: Power of a Positive Mind

12 January @ 7:00 pm - 8:15 pm

Every great achievement starts in the mind, with a powerful thought.

Maureen Goodman explores how a pure and positive state of mind is the master key to unlocking our greatness. How shifting attention to the quality of our thinking builds clarity, calm and courage to be our best self.

About the Speaker

As Programme Director for the Brahma Kumaris UK, Maureen has had the opportunity to work with many diverse communities. Her interests include young people, women’s empowerment, sustainability and building spiritual capacity. As the Brahma Kumaris representative at the United Nations, Vienna, she meets and dialogues with leaders actively engaged in politics, religion, science and community. Involved in inter-religious dialogue for over 45 years, Maureen currently represents the Brahma Kumaris on the Board of Religious Leaders of the Elijah Interfaith Institute and was a presenter in the Institute’s plenary session at the Parliament of the World’s Religions in Chicago in 2023. She is also an ambassador to the Peace Pledge to Live Loving-Kindness & Compassion. In April 2022, she joined a group of religious leaders on a visit to Ukraine as part of the Faith in Ukraine initiative. Maureen led the Brahma Kumaris delegation to Climate Change Conference, COP 27 and also participated in COP 15 for Biodiversity. She has a deep interest in the spiritual and ethical dimensions of climate change, the nature of harmony, and the connection between our inner state of being and the state of our Earth. Maureen is part of the Strategic Circle of the Spirit of Humanity Forum. Hosted by the City of Reykjavik and supported by the Prime Minister of Iceland, the Forum creates a safe space for self-exploration and dialogue among leaders and change-makers seeking transformation based on core human values.
