An ice cream van for grown-ups is touring Greater Manchester this summer, serving alcohol-infused ice creams, sorbets and ice pops.
A Few Scoops has headed out on a tour of the region this weekend, just in time for the spring heatwave Manchester is enjoying.
Boozy ice creams and sorbets are served from a pink tuk tuk known as Jolene, or from a pink push-bike called Dolly.
Flavours on offer range from sophisticated espresso martinis and old fashioneds, to refreshing summer cocktails like pina coladas, peach bellinis and mojitos.
While the offering is geared towards frozen tipples, there are non-alcoholic flavours on offer too, including coke float ice cream and cherryade sorbet.
Many of the flavours are vegan, too.
A Few Scoops is visiting venues across Trafford, Salford and Cheshire over the coming weeks.
One of its residencies will be at the Not So Secret Garden in Atrincham’s Stamford Square, a new community hub with al fresco seating, deckchairs and a flower wall.
The business was created in June 2019 by Manchester local Alanna Atkinson.
She said: “When we started A Few Scoops, we knew we didn’t want a standard ice cream van, we wanted something that was different that made everyone whip out their phones to take a photo!
“We think we’ve achieved this with Jolene.”
