It’s a fraction of the price of other supermarkets including Morrisons, Sainsbury’s, Tesco and Iceland
There’s nothing quite like a Cadbury Creme Egg to get you in the mood for Easter.
In fact it doesn’t need to be Easter at all to get shoppers excited about the much-loved seasonal treat, especially with the price Aldi is selling them for.
While supermarkets including Tesco and Iceland are selling a pack of five for £3.50 – and Sainsbury’s and Morrisons even more at £4 – the budget retailer is selling the same pack for just £1.49, that’s just under 30p per egg.
Aldi shared a Facebook post promoting the offer and it’s attracted hundreds of responses in just a few hours.
“Can’t wait to stock up at that price, love a Creme Egg,” said one, while another added: “Well, you can’t resist at that price.”
A third simply said: “That is impressive.”
Others commented on how much things have changed in the world of Creme Eggs, saying ‘you used to get six in a box’ and ‘Yummy… Yes please.. But I remember when they were only 20p each.”
They might not be quite as low as that, but when you’re paying less than half the price of other supermarkets, the offer is sure to be a big hit this Easter.
Aldi’s promotion, a five-pack reduced from £2.95 to £1.49, is available in stores until March 2.
